2026 AOA Continuing Orthopaedic Education Shoulder Meeting​
It was a real privilege to the opportunity to present at the Australian Orthopaedic Association’s Continued Orthopaedic Education meeting in Brisbane this week. My topic was ‘lateralisation or no lateralisation - back to the future’. The biomechanics of Reverse total shoulder replacement, and how we can apply it to make the results from surgery better for our patients, are topics close to my heart.

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Medical Student Anthony who was looking to enter the world of Orthopaedics.

Anthony spent a total of 4 weeks with Oceanside Orthopaedics, shadowing Dr Lombard in the clinic and in theatre. Anthony felt very much a part of the team and it was sad to see him go.

We are excited to see Anthony back on the Sunshine Coast this year as he undertakes his internship and residency at SCUH. Congratulations Anthony! We are stoked for you.
